Equation-of-State Measurements of Porous Materials on OMEGA: Numerical Modeling

چکیده
LLE Review, Volume 90 57 Introduction The equation of state (EOS) of materials at high densities and pressures is of wide interest to inertial confinement fusion (ICF), planetary physics, and astrophysics. The EOS at these conditions often involves a mixture of atomic, ionic, and molecular species, making ab initio theoretical modeling prohibitive. Experiments to constrain EOS models have been performed using static methods such as diamond-anvil cells1 and at higher pressures using dynamic methods, such as shocks generated by light-gas guns,2 lasers,3 and even nuclear explosions.4,5 Of these methods, laser-driven shocks currently provide the best method available for not only accessing the high pressures of interest, but performing accurate measurements necessary to determine the EOS.

A Numerical Modeling for Natural Convection Heat Transfer in Porous Media With Generated Internal Heat Sources
In this paper a numerical method is used to study the unsteady state natural convection heat transfer within a confined porous media with uniform internal heat generation. The governing equations based on the Darcy model and Bossiness approximations are solved, using the finite difference Alternating Direction Implicit (ADI) method. The developed program was used to simulate natural convection ...
متن کاملConsolidation Around a Heat Source in an Isotropic Fully Saturated Rock with Porous Structure in Quasi-Static State
The titled problem of coupled thermoelasticity for porous structure has been solved with an instantaneous heat source acting on a plane area in an unbounded medium. The basic equations of thermoelasticity, after being converted into a one-dimensional form, have been written in the form of a vector-matrix differential equation and solved by the eigenvalue approach for the field variables in the ...

The nonlinear dynamical system modeling the immobilized enzyme kinetics with Michaelis-Menten mechanism for an irreversible reaction without external mass transfer resistance is considered. Laplace transform homotopy perturbation method is used to obtain the approximate solution of the governing nonlinear differential equation, which consists in determining the series solution convergent to the...

Wave overtopping on the breakwaters is an important issue in breakwaters’ design. Most of the previous studies focused on experimental researches and numerical modeling of irregular wave overtopping particularly on porous breakwaters has not been studied. In the present study, the verification between experimental studies and numerical modeling of irregular waves overtopping on the porous...
